SAN FRANCISCO (November 16, 2022) – St. Anthony’s, committed to providing pathways to stability for thousands of San Franciscans in need, today announced that Akrom Zakhidov has been promoted to Chief Information Officer. In this role, Akrom will now lead all data and technology operations at the Foundation.
“Akrom’s incredible experience speaks for itself. We believe his expertise will prove an invaluable resource to further our mission of creating a society where all persons can flourish,” said Nils Behnke, CEO, St. Anthony’s.
Akrom has 25 years of experience leading IT strategy and management. In his most recent role as head of IT at the Richmond office of biotech firm PerkinElmer, he managed and supported Genetic Disease Screening equipment, custom multisite lab information management systems and IT infrastructure for the entire network of laboratories for the California Department of Public Health.
“I’m honored to continue my journey with such an important organization committed to uplifting our neighbors in need in the Tenderloin and San Francisco,” said Akrom.
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, he has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business, and an MBA with a concentration in IT. When he’s not biking or traveling or cooking with his family, Akrom volunteers with local nonprofit organizations, assisting with their IT needs.
In the Tenderloin’s struggle with poverty, addiction, and mental illness, St. Anthony Foundation has been a beacon of consistency, companionship, and caring for more than 70 years. We provide our guests with a range of services—from a place to rest or take a shower, clothing, and addiction recovery, to meals, medical care, and workforce development. At St. Anthony’s, we take a different approach, one that delivers meaningful results — Hope. Stability. Renewal.
