SAN FRANCISCO (October 14, 2021) –St. Anthony’s 43rd Annual Penny Pitch will be held on Friday, October 15, at Chief Sullivan’s Bar and Restaurant in North Beach. Like bocce ball with coins, Penny Pitch brings together San Francisco personalities of all kinds, including local business owners, corporate partners, government officials, Franciscan friars, and athletes. Presented by Wells Fargo, the fundraiser supports St. Anthony’s mission to feed, heal, shelter, clothe, and lift the spirits of people experiencing homelessness and poverty in San Francisco.

Started in 1977 by renowned restaurateur Ed Moose as a friendly wager between two watering holes, Penny Pitch quickly became a cherished local tradition. Legendary “pitchers” from the past include Metallica, SF Giant Noah Lowry, SF 49er Steve Bono, and more. This year, a record29 teams will compete in a March Madness-style bracket. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, this uniquely San Francisco event has raised more than $1 million for St. Anthony’s! Learn more at www.pennypitchsf.org/

St. Anthony’s invites all interested press to join us for a day of doing good while having fun starting with the first pitch at 12:45 pm. We will be posting to our social channels throughout the day. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram @stanthonysf for updates.
