One City Day at St. Anthony's

On Saturday, July 11, more than 70 volunteers joined St. Anthony Foundation for San Francisco’s first-ever One City Day, demonstrating what is possible when neighbors come together in service.

We were honored to welcome Mayor Daniel Lurie and First Lady Becca Prowda, who began their day alongside our volunteers and staff in the Dining Room, serving breakfast to our neighbors before the citywide kickoff. Their dedication to service set the tone for a day rooted in community.

Throughout the day, volunteers stepped into the work that happens at St. Anthony’s 365 days a year. Together, they served meals in the Dining Room, sorted high-quality clothing in the Free Clothing Program, stuffed backpacks with school supplies for our upcoming Back-to-School event, and helped beautify the Golden Gate Greenway.

We are deeply grateful to all of the volunteers who showed up, including Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, and to our incredible partners who made the day possible, including Dolby, Levi’s, Citizens Bank and the St. Anthony’s Young Professionals Council.

The One City Day volunteers invested in something every bit as important as our roads, parks and public spaces: our human infrastructure. Every meal served, backpack packed, article of clothing sorted, strengthened the trust and care that help people build healthier lives and create thriving neighborhoods.

We are grateful to everyone who invested their time, energy and heart in our community, and we look forward to continuing this work together throughout the year.
