The Nailor’s Story

Anthony and Loraine Nailor (Lori and Tony) were undeniably each other’s best friends for more than 50 years. They met while serving in the U.S. Air Force in Northern California. Both were officers and continued serving our country in the United States and Europe for decades before retiring and beginning their civilian careers.

Although they were never blessed with children, their lives were rooted in a shared commitment to the Catholic faith and to helping others through charitable giving. They also shared a love of gourmet cooking, travel, fashion and fine dining, and they were devoted animal lovers. Over the years, Lori and Tony cherished three Yorkshire terriers, caring for each of them as beloved members of their family.

Lori and Tony’s decision to leave 80% of their estate to St. Anthony Foundation grew from Loraine’s years working in downtown San Francisco after her military service. During her lunch breaks, Lori often walked through the neighborhood and witnessed the growing need among neighbors experiencing hunger and hardship. It was then that she became familiar with St. Anthony Foundation and the compassionate care it provides each day.

Deeply moved by what she saw, Lori spent several years observing St. Anthony’s work before speaking with Tony about making the Foundation the primary beneficiary of their estate. Tony wholeheartedly agreed, and together they updated their estate plans.

Through their extraordinary generosity, Lori and Tony have left a lasting legacy of compassion. Their gift will continue to welcome neighbors with nourishment, care and hope for generations to come.
