St. Anthony’s Mission Program & Events Coordinator Arianna Inferrera Leads with Her Love of Putting Faith into Action

March 21, 2023

Throughout March, St. Anthony Foundation is celebrating National Women’s History Month by highlighting the vital role of women who share their time and talent with the foundation

1. Tell us a little bit about you and your relationship with St. Anthony’s. What is your role? How long have you worked or volunteered here?

While at St. Mary’s College, I completed a five-month fellowship at St. Anthony Foundation where I worked under advocacy and volunteer services. I feel like I’ve come full circle. Following my fellowship and graduation, I applied for and landed a job as the foundation’s education program coordinator and took the lead in scheduling and hosting students from all over the Bay Area for tours of our campus and volunteering. Currently, I serve as the Mission Program & Events Coordinator.

What I love most about working at St. Anthony Foundation is I get to put my faith in action. I like to say it’s not “hard work. It’s heart work”.

2. What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

Fun fact: While at St. Mary’s College, Arianna spent a semester abroad in Rome where she had the privilege of attending Mass and meeting Pope Francis who gifted her with a rosary on her 21st birthday

I feel lucky to come from a very woman-empowered family. My mom is the best. She was born in Mexico and moved to the States when she was 10. I witnessed her working hard to achieve her dreams. She would take me to daycare when I was 3 months old, working full-time, picking me up, and then pursuing night classes and completing homework until the early hours of the morning to earn her master’s degree in organizational management. I couldn’t imagine a more strong and beautiful women to honor this month.

3. Is there one or perhaps a few women who have inspired or currently inspire you?

My mom, of course! I also value that at St. Anthony Foundation, there are several women in senior management roles. These women inspire me too, and I hope I get to join their ranks soon.

4. Which of the organization’s five values do you most enjoy practicing? Personalism, gratitude, community, justice, or healing?

Today, I’d say personalism is the value I most enjoy practicing.

At St. Anthony’s, we have a strong culture of asking each guest what their name is because we all want to feel listened to and loved. This leads to community, and this is what makes our work distinctive.

It’s “how” we offer our services that sets St. Anthony’s apart. Asking each guest and truly hearing how their day is going makes a meaningful difference.

St. Anthony Foundation is hosting tours of our campus. We offer two types of tours—the Foundation Tour and the Mission Tour—learn more about our foundation, our mission and values, and the services we offer to our guests. Please see a full description of each type of tour and upcoming dates online here, and fill out and submit the form to sign up. We look forward to meeting you!
