Make a difference in the lives of San Franciscans in need by serving with your company at St. Anthony’s.
St. Anthony’s is taking precautions to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. All volunteers are required to wear masks at all times, and all of our volunteer shifts allow for social distancing. Please see our shift calendar for current opportunities.
St. Anthony’s provides an opportunity for your company to get involved and connected with their its community. We can accommodate both individual volunteers and groups of up to five onsite at this time. Remote volunteer shifts and opportunities for virtual engagement are also available.
Saturdays and Sundays – 9:30am-12:00pm or 1:15pm-3:45pm
St. Anthony’s Free Clothing Program (FCP) is San Francisco’s largest free clothing program. FCP provides fresh, clean clothes to low-income families and individuals, including those who are experiencing homelessness.
We are in need of volunteer support to help us process our donated clothing for distribution. Tasks include sorting, folding, hanging and quality checking clothing. Volunteer shifts may also include creating emergency clothing and hygiene item kits.
Volunteers will not be involved in any client/guest facing activities, and will be provided with hand sanitizer and space to socially distance while volunteering.
Every Day of the Week (including weekends!) – 9:30am – 1:45pm
St. Anthony’s Dining Room serves free, hot, meals, 365 days a year.
Dining Room service is a way to provide a safe space and community during these especially challenging times. We serve over 2,500 meals each day, curbside. Tasks include meal plating, bagging, packing and tying.
We will provide all volunteers with a hot meal, a space to eat, and distance from others.
Thursdays – 2:15pm – 4:00pm
Every Thursday afternoon the Dining Room becomes a space where volunteers pack a mix of fresh and shelf-stable groceries for distribution.
Thanks in part to our partnership with the SF Marin Food Bank, this distribution provides low-income senior citizens with the food essentials they may not have access to elsewhere, curbside. Volunteers support this operation by assisting with grocery packing and other duties as needed.
St. Anthony’s Workforce Development Program supports job seekers who have barriers to employment with resume building, active job search, and interview preparation. In partnership with our Tech Lab, volunteer Mock Interviewers are needed virtually to assist job seekers in preparing for job interviews.
