Making someone else feel special is what Valentine’s Day is all about!
Whether you’re happily single, just dumped, dating around, or already in a relationship, it’s easy to make a big hearted difference when you join our “All You Need Is Love Volunteer Day” event.
This event is a mixture of an interactive project, where we’ll be building 2,000 valentine gifts for distribution to our low-income and homeless neighbors of the Tenderloin, as well as a social meet up—with complimentary champagne/beer mimosas and small bites.
Come out and join us—we guarantee you’ll end the day happier than if you stayed at home! #AllYouNeedIsLove
St. Anthony’s guests, volunteers, donors and supporters all came together to celebrate at Thanksgiving. Our annual Turkey Carve event saw Mayor Ed Lee, Police Chief William Scott and Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White lead the preparations for the Thanksgiving meal. Check out this report on the evening’s festivities!
Crews from KTVU Fox 2 and KGO ABC7 visited St. Anthony’s over the weekend to see our Thanksgiving donation drive get off to a great start. Thanks to everyone who has donated this holiday season!
St. Anthony’s is opening an overnight shelter to help homeless San Franciscans stay inside during the current health emergency caused by deteriorating air quality.
The shelter, which will cater for up to 60 guests each night, has been activated as a response to the City’s Department of Emergency Management advice for residents to stay indoors.
It will be open, at a minimum, for four nights (until the morning of Monday, October 16). It is based in St. Anthony’s dining room at the corner of Golden Gate Avenue and Jones Street.
“Anything that impacts our community also affects the homeless,” said St. Anthony’s Executive Director Barry Stenger, “San Franciscans have been advised to stay indoors as much as possible because of the health emergency, but our homeless neighbors don’t have an ‘indoors’ to go to, so we have to make one for them.”
We are calling on our community of great volunteers to rally round and help us during this emergency period when we are running at full capacity. If you can help in our overnight shelter or in our dining room over the next four days please sign up for a shift by visiting our volunteering page!
Thanks to your loyal support, in a day, St. Anthony’s…
