What is Volunteer Enrichment?

Volunteers are valued members of St. Anthony Foundation's family. Annually, nearly 8,000 volunteers contribute their time and talents to our endeavors.

There is a wide variety of opportunities for individuals wishing to engage in an ongoing assignment, short-term project, or credited school internship.

There are also many service opportunities for school, club, church and corporate groups. Click here to learn more about group volunteering. Those who are unable to volunteer on-site can always conduct a food or clothing drive to help those in need.

As you work with us, we invite you to share the dream of a more compassionate and just world and welcome your participation in St. Anthony's mission "to feed, heal, shelter, clothe, lift the spirits of those in need, and create a society in which all persons flourish."

How do I become a volunteer?

All new volunteers must attend an orientation. We offer two orientations each month. Orientations introduce volunteers to St. Anthony Foundation, the Tenderloin neighborhood, the people we serve and give an overview the volunteer handbook. At the end of the orientation you will meet with the volunteer coordinator to set-up up the next steps in volunteering.

Click here for more information about orientations and signing-up.

What is Volunteer Enrichment?

Enrichments are opportunities for volunteers to come together to socialize and meet other St. Anthony Foundation volunteers and staff. It's also an opportunity to learn more about the Foundation and about poverty, homelessness and the issue the people you serve face each day in our city.
