Thanksgiving Curbside Drive: November 19-24

Together with volunteers, guests, staff, and community members, we kicked off the holiday season by helping San Franciscans in need, through our annual Thanksgiving Curbside Drive. With generous support from the community, we collected 1,283 turkeys, 105 hams, 1,090 bags of groceries, 556 bags of clothes and toiletries, and 2,239 pairs of socks. All of the donations support our Dining Room, Free Clothing Program, and Social Work Center.

Thanksgiving Curbside was generously supported by Wells Fargo. Thank you from all of us at St. Anthony’s!

  1. It would help if you could be more specific about what kinds of toiletries, opened or not and what kind of pantry items

    • Hi Layne, thank you for thinking of our guests for your donation. Unopened toiletries only please, and a good rule of thumb for pantry items are things you would enjoy yourself. Have a wonderful day.

    • Hi there Layne. I think when they say toiletries, they mean things like unopened/unused deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I’m pretty sure they’d appreciate either “guest size” toiletries provided in hotels, or regular size. Pantry items are things that everyone can use and stocks at home, like canned tomatoes, canned or boxed soups, pasta, and maybe even dried fruit. There’s such need….

  2. Hi, if I am dropping off Turkeys on actual Thanksgiving morning, should they still be frozen?

    • Hi Nadia, thank you so much for your gift. Yes, please keep them frozen for us and we’ll be able to use them for future meals. Happy Thanksgiving!
