In July, a group of San Francisco Giants’ Wives and their families visited our Free Clothing Program to give out 50 Project Night Night gift bags and volunteer with our youngest guests.
Our giveaway was truly one for the books—the Giants’ Wives came with loving smiles, open arms, and a bounty of basic nighttime essentials.
“What stood out the most was the experience of receiving such thoughtful gifts from such influential people in our community. Our guests wanted to get their pictures taken with the Giants’ Wives, they wanted to talk with them, share photos of their family, and connect beyond the donations,” said Jenna Fiore, Free Clothing Program Assistant Manager.
The Giants’ Wives were overjoyed with the opportunity to help our community members in need and to provide them with items that they can put to good use.
Giant’s wife Amanda said, “I feel it’s important to give back to the community. We have been very blessed and it’s important to pay it forward. It’s a small thing, but I hope it puts a smile on the faces of the children.”
Our Free Clothing Program serves 150 children, women, and men per day, providing fresh, clean clothing at no cost. If you’d like to learn more about this program, watch a short clip or sign up for a volunteer shift!
This year’s Back to School event has gone BIG—doubling the days of service and the number of children served. During our two day event, 400 children will receive a new backpack, set of clothes, and school supplies to get them ready for the first day of school. We will also be providing haircuts, writing activities, crafts, and a photo booth. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see live coverage the day of.
Huge thank you to our partners Dolby, Gap, Inc., Chronicle Books, and Warm Winters for supporting our youngest guests for this event.
Emceed by the dynamic duo, Murph & Mac of KNBR, hundreds of supporters gathered on the patio at MoMo’s for the 40th Annual Penny Pitch on April 21st, 2017 to witness 32 teams compete for the coveted trophy and bragging rights.
Congratulations to our friends at Anheuser Busch and their team ‘Beers R Us’ for taking home this year’s trophy. View pictures from this year’s festivities.
Pitching pennies to raise money for St. Anthony’s programs has evolved into a beloved San Francisco tradition for generations. 40 years of Penny Pitch is possible because of community members throughout San Francisco who generously give of their time and resources to help provide essential support to San Franciscans living in poverty.
Many thanks to our Justice Sponsors: Anheuser-Busch, Playstudios, and the Yvonne and the Angelo Sangiacomo Family Foundation for supporting the 40th Annual Penny Pitch, a time-honored San Francisco tradition.

Annual Interfaith Homeless Memorial Service
In partnership with The San Francisco Night Ministry and The San Francisco Interfaith Council, the Annual Interfaith Homeless Memorial is a special service that honors and remembers our homeless brothers and sisters who passed away this year on the streets.
On Wednesday, December 21st, a group of volunteers, guests, and staff gathered at St. Anthony’s, before walking over to the memorial service at Civic Center, to honor those who have passed away.
Many thanks to the Bay Area community for helping us kick off the Christmas season by helping San Franciscans in need during the holidays and all year round.
With generous support from the community, we collected 271 turkeys, 288 hams, 372 bags of groceries, 1,959 bags of clothes, and 3,557 pairs of socks. All of the donations support our Dining Room, Free Clothing Program, Social Work Center, and Winter Shelter.
Together with our friends at PG&E, Christmas Curbside helps us provide hot, nutritious meals 365 days a year, to San Franciscans in need. Thank you from all of us at St. Anthony’s!
