VOLUNTEER SHIFT: DINING ROOM 1-HOUR MEAL SERVICE
“It’s so easy to make a huge impact. If you have an hour, you can make a difference.”
At St. Anthony’s, we know that finding time to volunteer can be challenging. That’s why we now offer a way to support our Dining Room for a single hour at a time. Join us for our Dining Room 1-hour meal service shift, tailored for those who have limited availability but still want to give back. Tasks include serving trays, working the line, bussing tables, and providing warm hospitality to guests. Use your lunch time to nourish more than yourself.
Why try the Dining Room 1-hour meal service shift?
- Impactful: 12:30 – 1:30 pm is when we need helping hands the most.
- Short: you don’t need to shift your schedule to serve your community.
- Connected: you’ll be providing essential support for individuals that are the most vulnerable in our community.
ABOUT ST. ANTHONY’S DINING ROOM
LOCATION & HOURS
More than one-third of our guests rely on these meals as their only source of food each day; many must decide between paying their rent and purchasing medicine before budgeting for food. The Dining Room is more than a meal service however, it is a community.
Whether in a residential hotel room or on the street, 83% of our guests live alone, and the Dining Room is a place to share stories and smiles, a place where someone would notice if they did not show up.
Every year we serve more than 2,000,000 pounds of food, 75% of that food is donated or provided free by our community partners. As a model of environmental stewardship, St. Anthony’s Dining Room composts or recycles 70% of all program waste.
We rely on the generosity and support of volunteers to run our Dining Room. We need volunteers everyday, especially in the non-holiday months.
