Fr. Alfred Boedekker was my great uncle and I loved him very much. So glad to see how the work of the Foundation continues. God bless you all!

So very touching – thank goodness for those with the insight to see the need and for the others to carry on the project. Bless all who care to serve those in need.

During the month of February of 2009 I was left with no job and nothing to do. I had lived in the Tenderloin for nearly 25 years of my life and knew that I was in need of a calling. Luckily for me, I had found the St. Anthony Dining Room which was only around the corner of St. Boniface Church which my family had gone to every Sunday and felt that this was to be my calling. Soon I had signed on and had volunteered for the Dining Room through the months of June 2009 to August 2010. I must admit, even though it was brief, the feeling of helping others had touched me very heavily.

I found something inside of me that I did not know was there; confidence, courage, but more importantly the love that I had shared with the people that I had volunteered with as well as the guests that I had served during my brief time at the St. Anthony Dining Room. I had become a changed man since then and will always keep the memories that I have of the Dining Room with me forever. Bless those who care to help our brothers and sisters in need and bless the foundation for it’s 60 years of opening their doors to the needy.

Yes, thank you for being there. It is amazing how just the thought that that door is opened during lunch every day make so many people feel better getting up in the morning. The Turkeys at the Thanksgiving were really cute and tasty.
    Thanks for keep it rolling!
