bay area homeless services for senior womenThe Madonna Senior Residence and Center provides senior women a safe and supportive home.

Built in 2000, the Madonna Residence is an independent-living program comprised of 51 private fully furnished studios. Our combination of mental and physical health services and community building activities work to improve residents’ health and reduce isolation.

The Madonna incorporates social work services, counseling, a recreation program and, in cooperation with North and South of Market Adult Day Health Services, a program to support aging-in-place. Other activities include quilting classes, art and pet therapy, intergenerational gatherings and performances. The cost of care at a senior facility with a comparable range of services averages more than $2,500 a month, more than three times the average senior’s monthly Social Security Income.
